ToonieBet Puts Its Logo on the Ottawa REDBLACKS
Soft2Bet’s Canadian brand is now the REDBLACKS’ exclusive sportsbook partner. The logo goes on all three jerseys, on the TV and LED boards at TD Place, and through the club’s social feeds. It is the third Ottawa-facing deal the brand has signed since the spring of 2025.
Casinos That Also Run a Sportsbook
ToonieBet is licensed in Ontario and Alberta and takes no account from the rest of Canada. Three operators from our main rankings carry a sportsbook next to the casino on one wallet and do take those accounts. All three are offshore, none are licensed by iGaming Ontario, and each review says so on the page.

What the Deal Covers
The REDBLACKS announced ToonieBet as their exclusive sportsbook partner on August 26, 2026. The package runs wider than a logo placement. The ToonieBet mark goes on all three of the team’s player jerseys. TV and LED signage runs through TD Place along with match-day activations, and the brand takes over the Sideline Club, the field-level seating closest to the play. Add integrations across the club’s social channels and three pregame street parties on Exhibition Way with a DJ, games and giveaways.
Matthew Bennett, the club’s VP of corporate partnerships, said the team was “thrilled to welcome ToonieBet into the REDBLACKS family as a sportsbook partner.” Daniel Madmon, who heads ToonieBet Canada, called the deal “an exciting milestone as we continue to expand ToonieBet’s footprint in Canada.” Neither side put a figure on it, which is normal for CFL sponsorships.
The part worth noticing is the street parties. Jersey and board placement is the standard shape of a sportsbook deal. Three events on the street outside the stadium is the brand buying a spot in the pregame routine, which is where a betting app wants to be.
Who ToonieBet Is
ToonieBet is Soft2Bet’s Canadian brand, named after the two-dollar coin. It entered the market in 2024 as an online casino and added a sportsbook in Ontario in May 2025. In Ontario the site is run by Canadix Limited, registered with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and operating under an agreement with iGaming Ontario.
Alberta opened its own regulated market on July 13, 2026, run by the Alberta iGaming Corporation and regulated by Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis. ToonieBet is registered there as well. Those two provinces are the whole of its legal Canadian footprint. In British Columbia, Quebec or Nova Scotia the only licensed online option is still the provincial lottery platform, and ToonieBet is not it.
That geography is what makes the REDBLACKS a sensible signing. Ottawa sits in the one province where the brand has been taking bets the longest, and the CFL club is the second-biggest ticket in town.
The Third Deal in the Same City
April 2025: ToonieBet became the official online casino partner of the Ottawa Senators, its first deal with an NHL club. July 2025: the CFL named it an official sports betting and casino partner at league level. August 2026: the REDBLACKS, exclusive on the sportsbook side.
A league deal and a club deal are not the same product. The CFL agreement buys presence around the league’s own properties and broadcasts. The REDBLACKS agreement buys the jersey, the stadium and the crowd that shows up at Lansdowne. Sign both and the same logo reaches an Ottawa fan through the broadcast, through the boards and through the shirt.
It also means one brand now sits on the hockey team and the football team in a city of just over a million people. Ontario’s market is four years old and the cost of getting a new account has climbed the whole way, which is the usual reason a sportsbook stops buying clicks and starts buying buildings.
Why the Deal Is Logos and Not Players
Since February 28, 2024, the Registrar’s Standards for Internet Gaming have barred Ontario operators from using athletes in gambling advertising. Active or retired, the rule covers both, and the single exception is a message about responsible gambling. The AGCO brought it in on the argument that athletes in betting ads reach people under the legal age.
Team sponsorship survived that change. A logo on a jersey, a board at the stadium and a sponsored seating section are the club selling inventory, not a player endorsing a betting app. So a deal like this one can put the mark everywhere a camera points and still not put a REDBLACKS quarterback in a commercial.
Read the announcement again with that in mind and the shape makes sense. Jerseys, signage, a seating section, street parties: every item is the venue or the club. No player names appear anywhere in it.
What It Means If You Are the One Betting
An official partnership is a media buy. The club sold signage and got paid; nobody at the REDBLACKS timed a withdrawal or read the bonus terms. “Official sportsbook partner of” tells you a brand has a marketing budget, and that is all it tells you.
What does carry weight is the registration behind it. An operator under iGaming Ontario has to run age and identity checks, offer deposit limits and self-exclusion, and answer a complaint through a process that ends at the AGCO rather than at its own support desk. The minimum age is 19. That is a real difference from an offshore book, and it is the reason we say on every review page whether an operator has it.
The operators we test mostly do not. CrazyTower, TikiTaka and Cazeus run a sportsbook and a casino off one wallet, which is convenient in the same way ToonieBet is, and all three are offshore. What we can measure there is the part that decides whether the money arrives: withdrawal ceilings, how long a payout actually takes, and what the bonus terms do to a balance before it can move. Our high-roller thresholds apply on the sportsbook side the same way they do in the casino, and the TI 2026 recap covers the same one-wallet setup from the esports end.
The Football Joke
The comic on this page comes out of the word. A partnership between a sportsbook and a football club reads one way in Ottawa and a completely different way anywhere the game involves a round ball and no helmets. The CFL plays three downs on a 110-yard field with twelve to a side, and the only penalty kick in it is not the kind that ends a shootout.
Straight Answers on the ToonieBet REDBLACKS Deal
Yes. The club announced ToonieBet as its exclusive sportsbook partner on August 26, 2026. The brand belongs to Soft2Bet.
The ToonieBet logo on all three REDBLACKS jerseys, TV and LED signage at TD Place, sponsorship of the field-level Sideline Club, social media integrations, and three pregame street parties on Exhibition Way.
Ontario and Alberta. In Ontario it operates as Canadix Limited, registered with the AGCO under an agreement with iGaming Ontario. Alberta’s regulated market opened on July 13, 2026 under the Alberta iGaming Corporation and AGLC. Everywhere else in Canada the licensed online option is the provincial lottery platform.
Yes. It became the Ottawa Senators’ official online casino partner in April 2025 and an official sports betting and casino partner of the CFL in July 2025. The REDBLACKS deal is the third.
No. Ontario’s Registrar’s Standards have barred athletes, active or retired, from gambling advertising since February 28, 2024, except when the message is about responsible gambling. Jersey logos and stadium signage are sponsorship rather than an athlete endorsement, so they are allowed.
No. A partnership is paid sponsorship, and clubs do not test payouts or read bonus terms. The thing worth checking is the licence: an iGaming Ontario operator owes you identity checks, deposit limits, self-exclusion and a complaint route that ends with the AGCO. An offshore book owes you whatever its own terms say.
